Outreach

One of PSM’s primary goals is to preserve Puget Sound’s maritime heritage for current and future generations.  To do this, we endeavor to engage children, families and the general public in many different ways.  Our outreach programs aim to educate, entertain, and excite people about all things maritime!

We are always in need of arts and crafts supplies for these outreach programs – you can show your support for our printer ink, paper, and Crayola marker fund by donating here!   Or find out more about joining our volunteer crew, to help out at our family events!

For Families:

We love to see kids and families be creative, work together, and learn about maritime topics in a fun environment.  We have created many education activities that involve crafts and games.  You can find us facilitating these activities on Free First Thursdays at MOHAI (admission is free all day on the first Thursday of every month!), as well as at festivals and other special events.

Have you participated in some of our activities?  Share your photos or tag us on Facebook @pugetsoundmaritime and Twitter @psmaritimehs, #pugetsoundmaritime.

Some of our activities and topics are: sustainable fishing, periscopes, lighthouses, dragon boats, pirates, nautical flags, nautical phrases, and more.  So, come visit us in the McCurdy Family Maritime Gallery at MOHAI on Free First Thursday, or check our events calendar to see where we’ll be next!
