GIVEBIG 2018

gb

For years our volunteers travel throughout the sound hosting a PSM booth for the public, providing public educational outreach for adults and youth, as well as booths at more than a dozen career fairs throughout the sound for highschoolers.
This year as GIVEBIG approaches, we’d like to ask for something a little more specific.
We would like to be able to offer a hands on public exhibit. Comprised of items that not only educate, but inspire.

We are also using GiveBIG as the launch point for a campaign to raise funds for the next phase of our PastPerfect Online project, which will begin the complete digitization of the Joe Williamson Marine Photograph Collection.  The Williamson Collection consists of over 60,000 images and is the heart of our photo collection.  By putting these photographs into our PastPerfect Database and making them available online, it will be easier than ever before for our members, researchers, and the general public to access our photo collection.
Our goal for this campaign is to raise a total of $22,000. This will fund the first phase of Williamson digitization, which will focus on the more than 6,000 photos of Mosquito Fleet and other inland vessels.  Help us meet our goal!
