the Society.
Virginia has a particular interest in Puget Sound maritime history and the Klondike Gold Rush, her pioneer Seattle family having played a role in both. Her own library, mainly comprised of local history, continues to grow!
She is a member of a pioneer Puget Sound seafaring family, and has spent many happy hours sailing the waters of Puget Sound, Canada and Europe. Her committee work has included: museum planning, fund raising, education, library organization and research, working at the library book sale, SEA CHEST editorial board entering articles onto disk, indexing the SEA CHEST and serving at and planning PSMHS booths at Fisherman's Terminal and Waterfront Week. The summer of 2000 she planned and coordinated a trip for members to Kyuquot, British Columbia, Canada. The summer of 2001 she managed at the sale of nautical items for the society. As a graduate of the University of Washington School of Librarianship, Virginia spent her professional career as an educator and librarian in the Seattle Public Schools.
